| 1.)Draw a line on the tracing paper about 38cm long. Draw a 15cm line at the end of the first line and another 7.5cm up from the same end; lines should be perpendicular to and centered on the first line. Label the lines A, B, and C as shown. | |

4.)Fold fleece right sides together; cut four pieces from fleece, with crosswise direction of fabric across palm. Make sure to cut 2 with pattern facing up, and cut the other 2 with the pattern facing down. |

8.)For each mitten, cut 2 lengths of elastic, each 2.5cm shorter than Line C. Insert elastic into bias tape casing. Pin ends to openings. Stitch in place. |

9.)Pin mitten pieces right sides together and stitch a 6mm seam. |

10.)Trim seam allowances and clip corner at thumb. Fold down 1.3cm hem and stitch in place. You may wish to use a zigzag or a decorative stitch. |

11.)Turn mitten right side out. |

| Follow Step 1 for making mitten pattern, except draw Line C about 5cm from Line B. | |
| Follow steps 2 and 3, except in step 3, extend cutting lines so Line B measures 2cm wider than Line C. | |
| Sew as in steps 4 to 13. | |
