Fleece Toque

MATERIALS

DIRECTIONS

1. Cut fleece fabric to the appropriate size (see below) as shown. If you wish to have a longer toque, vary the 50cm measurement.  If you want to make the circumference of the toque larger or smaller, vary the other measurements.
2. Fold over width, right sides together. Pin in place.
3. Stitch a 6mm seam to form tube.
4. Flatten the tube so that the seam lies to the centre back, turn the hem 10cm to the inside and stitch using either a topstitch or a blind hem stitch. 
5. Fringe raw end of toque cutting fringes 5cm to 7cm deep and approximately finger width.  Cut away seam as shown.
6. Turn the toque right side out and pull fringe to outside.  
7. Tie fringe with thread, tightly wrapping around the base of the fringe several times.
8. Turn up hem to desired depth.
