Self-Fringed No Sew Fleece Blanket

| This snuggly, warm blanket is a snap to sew!
It takes under an hour to construct and yet it will give you many hours of
comfort.
Feel free
to make them larger or smaller depending on who they are for, just be sure
the blanket will be big enough to snuggle into on those cool Fall and
Winter mornings.
For infants, 1 metre should be adequate whereas for an
older child, use 1.5 metres. For adults and teens, use 2 to 2.2 metres of
fleece.

MATERIALS
Sharp scissors
Olfa® Rotary Cutter & Large Cutting Mat
Metre Stick
Marking Pencil
2M Fleece fabric
|

DIRECTIONS
- Lay fleece out flat on floor or table.
- Straighten raw edges by placing the cutting mat underneath one end.
Use the metre stick as a guide and roll cutter to trim off any uneven,
crooked edges. Repeat for other end.
- Remove selvages using metre stick, cutter, and cutting mat as above.
You will need to slide your cutting mat ahead if it is not as long as
the selvages.
- On each end, measure and mark 10 cm from the raw edges at
1 cm
intervals. This will be your guide for creating your fringe.
- To create fringe, snip the raw edges at the 1cm intervals up to the
10cm marks you made in step 4. DO NOT SNIP YOUR SELVAGE EDGES.
- TIP: You can use your fingertip as a rough guide for spacing. Also,
long, smooth cuts give a cleaner look. Repeat for other raw edge.

SUGGESTED FABRICS:
Any of Fabricland’s Fleece Country® Fleece Fabrics will work
wonderfully for this project, but if you want something a little different
consider using Fabricland’s Reversible Sub-Ice® Fleece.
Reversible Sub-Ice® Fleece has two colours of fleece bonded together,
so you can easily create a reversible fringed fleece blanket. Reversible
Sub-Ice® Fleece is available in red on navy, red on black, yellow on
navy, and yellow on black combinations. This Fleece is remarkably soft and
comfortable.
