Pin piping to right side of fabric,
matching raw edges.
Using a piping foot or zipper foot, sew
as close to the piping as possible
Place right sides of fabric together,
stitch through all layers. Use the previous stitching line as a
stitching guide (stitch in the ditch).
Corners:
Clip piping seam allowance at corner.
Curves:
Outer Curve: Clip seam allowance of
piping around curve almost to the stitching line.
Inner Curve: Notch seam allowance of
piping around curve. Pin to curve and seam to help take the shape of
the curve.
Joining:
The starting end should be into the
seam allowance and curved to align itself with the seam line. Finish
by stitching over the starting piece and curving end into seam
allowance.
