There are such a variety of quilting tools out there to make the quilters life easier and quilting projects more accurate. Here you will find some of the items Fabricland carries.

Transparent Rulers

A must have item for quilters. Used for accurate cutting and a straightedge for cutting with a rotary cutter. Available in a variety of sizes and styles.

Ruler Handle

An excellent addition to any acrylic ruler. Suctions cups on so there is no damage to the ruler and it makes moving the ruler easier.

Self Healing Mat

Made specifically for use with rotary cutters to protect your cutting surface and the blade. The "Self-Healing" refers to how the plastic surface of the mat, when cut on, squeezes back together.

Rotary Cutter

A rolling razor blade, made of high quality tungsten carbide, used for cutting fabrics into shapes strips and pieces.

Scissors

Sewing scissors and shears are used for cutting out shapes and clipping threads.

Quilters Measuring Tape

An extra long measuring tape for measuring quilt tops, draperies, etc. 120" long.

Curved Safety Pins

For pin basting your quilt sandwich. Curved pins make it so easy to get all layers pinned and less damage to the surface underneath.

Quilt Pins

Made longer than other pins for ease of pinning quilting pieces. Shown here are the ball head and flat head pins. Other pins also available for specialty uses like appliqué and patchwork.

Quilting Thread

Available in a variety of types such as 100% quilting cotton, patchwork, nylon invisible thread, and silk-finish.

Walking Foot

Also called an even feed foot, prevents puckered stitches, and helps to move the quilt sandwich through the machine when quilting.

1/4" Foot

A scant 1/4" is very important when quilting. This foot makes it easier to achieve an exact 1/4" seam. By using the edge of the foot as your guide line a 1/4" seam is achieved every time.

Marking Tools

For marking temporary lines on fabric. There are a variety of pens/pencils for different applications. Some wash out, while others fade and some need heat to come out.

Fabric Eraser

For erasing lines drawn on fabric by a quilting pencil.

Hand Quilting Needles

Used for hand basting, sewing the binding on and other hand sewing applications.

Thimble

Protects your finger when hand sewing. Available in different sizes to fit most fingers. There are metal and leather varieties.

Quilt Templates

Make your own template with the gridded or clear plastic template sheets or use a precut template to add creative flair to your quilt.

Sewing Machine Quilting Needles

Made stronger, with a larger eye and a sharper point to go through layers of fabric.
